I emailed and asked about the quality of the glovebox. I was told that while it didn’t look exactly like the original VW box, it was well-made and sturdier. My experience was the opposite. I think the box looks very nice and visually matches the original well. As far as function, that’s another story. I needed to file the holes in the side of the glovebox where the latches engage so that it would latch properly. The recesses in the box for the bumpers are smaller in diameter than the bumpers that are supposed to fit inside them. I was able to sand them to fit, but the manufacturer should have made the recesses the right size in the first place, or supply bumpers that would fit. Additionally, the door doesn’t open smoothly at all. My old original glovebox opened and closed more smoothly, even with a broken hinge. The new glovebox looks very nice and kind of works, but it seems that not all of the details were attended to on the part of the manufacturer.
