92 degree (198F) VW Thermostat for many VW TDIs. This thermostat includes the O-ring seal. It is designed to lock into the thermostat housing, making installation much easier.

Works as advertised. I had switched to HPR (R99} diesel and got a CEL for low coolant temp since HPR burns cooler than B20. I was only getting and avg of 196ยฐ city and 184ยฐ hwy. After a quick test drive on a cool CA night I was reading 204ยฐ city and 198ยฐ hwy. Side note: I have an aftermarket metal t-stat housing and had to grind down the corners of the inner fins to get the thermostat to seat properly. Also the included gasket that wraps around the t-stat does not sit around the raised portion of the metal housing. Instead it sits partially on it. Hopefully it won’t be an issue. I figure that after torquing it down it will squish enough to make a good seal. I did , however, only torqued it to 9.5 ft lbs rather that the 11 ft lbs it asked for. So far no leaks.
