Description
Aftermarketย VW .717 ratio 5th gear. A mild upgrade over the typical .756 TDI 5th gear, this is also an excellent option for VR6 and 1.8t Gas cars. Typical drop over a stock TDI is approximately 200 rpm.
It is recommended that the gear oil and transmission seal be changed when a 5th gear is replaced.

Note on Installation: Be sure to heat the gear to 100ยบC when both removing as well as re-installing the gear or you risk damaging it. It is a good idea to use blue Loctiteยฎ onย the small gear pinion shaft.
Note for BEW Engine Code: Vehicles with a BEW engine code will lose Cruise Control functionality unless this modification is also paired with a tuneย that accounts for it.
